Activity Program

BPI provides a wide range of meaningful adult activities tailored to meet the variety of special needs, interests and abilities of the people participating in the program. In addition to our in-person activities, we offer virtual activities each day for those members who are unable to attend our program.

Every day is a different mix of opportunities for socializing, mentally stimulating games, reminiscence opportunities, discussions, craft and art work, physical activities, intergenerational experiences, healthcare, therapy assistance and personal care as well as shopping trips, tours and BPI adventures.

Individuals can actively join an event, choose to enjoy watching others or do their own thing. There are opportunities for large and small group activities as well as one to one interactions. There is always something happening at BPI!

BPI’s monthly Calendar of Events provides a current listing of the activities we provide daily, along with our daily menu.

Social Work

Our social worker provides support and assistance to our members and their families, assisting them to address their needs. This may include making referrals for things such as, but not limited to, housing, home health services, case management services, medical specialists and counseling; attending meetings; completing necessary paperwork and much more.

BPI understands that to properly meet the needs of an individual person it is important to work together with the entire family as a care team.

Family Support

BPI offers a unique program called Strength in Connections. Strength in Connections is a group of caregivers, both past and present, who gather each month to share their experiences, knowledge and strength.

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm in our upstairs community room at the Dr. Richard A. Sleeman Center located at 614 Harwood Hill in Bennington. Seating is limited. Please call to reserve your spot – 802-442-8136.

Members of Strength in Connectionts are people who have first-hand experience dealing with some of the issues that a caregiver might face. Knowing that there is a truly caring friend a caregiver can call to talk with, problem solve or just share with can bring a huge sense of relief.

Strength in Connections is an example of the special ways BPI is helping families “share the care.” For more information on how you or someone you know can join the fun and friendship, contact us at (802) 442-8136 or email us.

BPI has vans and provides door-through-door transportation in Bennington and its surrounding towns. For members who live in the Northshire, transportation is either private, or through the Green Mountain Community Network. Our Transportation Coordinator will be happy to discuss and arrange your ride.
